(St)ill

Over a week has passed and I’m still feeling crap. The antibiotics the Doctor has prescribed me haven’t really made a difference and thus I’m currently suffering from a cough, sore throat and a bunged up ear that I still can’t hear out of. I’m planning on going back to the Doctor’s tomorrow as although I can live with a sore throat and a cough the ear thing is very annoying and kind of painful.

I am unwell

These days gone past I find myself with a most inconvenient malady, as an illness, a pox if you will, has taken me in high surprise and has left me feeling weak and frail. At first I feared it to be the dreaded influenza but time has proven my assumption incorrect and I am left clueless and perplexed. I visited with the physician this very day to procure treatment but was greeted not by the able-bodied Doctor as I expected but by a woman who attempted to proffer me medicinal advice! I sat slack-jawed as she attempted to diagnose my ailments before I was able to gather myself together and leave post-haste, bidding her a good day and hoping that the actual Doctor will be returning shortly to remove this poor confused woman from his offices. All I can do for now in the absence of sound advice is retire to my bed in hopes that the illness shall soon leave me. I am so very weary….

(Or: I’ve been feeling rubbish since Wednesday evening starting off with joint pain, fever and general rubbishness through a sore throat to now having a cold, sore throat and a perforated ear drum. Mmmm. The latter has been caused by my swollen tonsils blocking the eustachian tube in my right ear causing liquid to build-up and then burst through my eardrum. Thus I have an ear that feels “full” and through which I can hear very little. Fun no? Oh and it keeps leaking yellow goo in the night too. The Doctor gave me some antibiotics so we’ll see if they can clear it all up and let me get back to normality. Stupid illness.

Added to all this Bee has also been unwell, suffering firstly from conjunctivitis and now from a cough/cold. Poor little mite. She didn’t sleep very well last night because of it but managed to catch up on her sleep today fortunately.

And why did I choose to write like a Victorian gentleman above? I’ve no idea.)

Yes! Customary weekend shenanigans update ahoy!

Apart from the regular driving lesson (12 hours of driving under my belt and getting there) we had a fairly quiet weekend. Chloe wasn’t feeling up to much on Saturday so I had Bee for most of the day and wandered out for a walk out and about to see if she’d sleep and get some exercise. Whilst wandering I came across a church tower in the middle of a park/green space which was quite odd, especially since there were no plaques or anything up. Investigations on returning home found it was once St Bartholomew at Heigham and was bombed in the war.

By Sunday though she was feeling much improved so we decided to head into the city for a meal at lunchtime at Tootsie’s and then go for a brief wander round the cathedral and back home via the river (walking alongside it that is). Afterwards we were both exhausted but glad for such a lovely day.
