Gardening

Gardening is for old people and people that have nothing better to do. Yet somehow I found myself weeding, pruning, cutting, re-potting and pulling apart an old dead tree stump this evening. How very odd. I think in part it’s because we’re spending more time in the garden with Bee and Miri (speaking of which, important potty news to share later!) and I want it to look good while we’re out there, but partly because last Summer my Grandad spent an insane amount of effort tidying up our garden and shed and I feel that I need to keep it neat as that’s what he would have wanted.

“You’ve not let that ivy grow all over the shed again have you?” I can hear in my head. And now I can say, “No, it’s all been cut back and looks as good as when you first painted it”

I miss him.
