We gots the Swine Flu
We found an injured bird
Our car needs around £500 of repair work done

So, after two weeks of house hunting we found a lovely house, arranged to put ours on the market and then promptly changed our minds. Why? We heard some bad things both about the area the house was in and the people who were selling it. I also cross-checked the former piece of information with another estate agent who backed it up so we’re staying put. For now.

Evernote is awesome. I first tried it out last month post wedding (I realise now it really would have helped quite a lot prior to the event, d’oh!) when planning the Fortnight of Fun shenanigans. Since then it’s proved invaluable when looking at houses and obtaining valuations and keeping all the data in one place easily accessible from home, work and on my phone (if only there were an S60 version…)
My favourite aspect is the OCR style word recognition in images, as I have no scanner I’ve resorted to taking photos of the estate agent letters and emailing them direct to Evernote. As part of the process the Evernote server looks through the image for any text and makes it searchable like this:

Which means I can happily toss the paper copies. I’m very tempted to get a Fujitsu ScanSnap and scan in all my paperwork and bin the non-essential stuff.
I’ve now abandoned post-it notes at work and am using solely Evernote for all my note taking and task lists.
